Shadows

  • RenoHatesMe by RenoHatesMe

I've seen a few images where the sun is behind the camera and you can see from its shadow that a raven is perched there. Should be count this one, too?

Oh, and given the insane numbers of ravens we all have to click, I think the name should be changed to Raven Watch.

I'd say "no" don't bother counting that raven. They're out of the Eating Loop. Sometimes, like in that area with the cage, there are 3 or 4 shadows. We will all go screaming out into the street with our hands over our heads if we have to start looking for raven shadows. 😃

Please define the 'eating loop'... if ravens are several metres away, are they still in that loop? Is there an 'eating loop' circumference, say 'so many body lengths'?

Hi stonepenny! I will jump in here. I think if you are certain it is a raven you can count it but if the shadow is unclear then I would say no. For the non-condor animals, we are interested in how many and how often they use the feeding stations.
