Condor Watch Talk

Better/longer tutorial

  • delphis by delphis

    Hi all,
this page is an interesting project but at the moment it lacks of a good tutorial/introduction. In my oppinion, the following points should be covered in a tutorial

    • The tutorial is to short. It should show contain images covering all available species and condors with different types of number tags (underlined, dots).
    • After completing one of the tutorial images, the "correct" answers should be shown. E.g. an image with arrows pointing at the different animals with the correct data for these animals
    • Improved field manual, covering questions like how to handle partial visible number tags, does "How close is this animal to the carcass or scale?" means the scale of the marked animal or always condor length
    • Make sure that the tutorial starts only once if you log in to your account
    • Add an option to mark all ravens in a row (and don't ask for the distance in case of ravens if it is not really required because the are very commonly seen on the images)

    Hi Delphis,
Thanks for all your feedback. Sorry you found the tutorial lacking. we were striving to make something that was informative, but not too lengthy. The tutorial really should only start once if you're logged in. Sorry you're having trouble with that. Let me know if it persists. And for the ravens, we're working on making it so that you can mark them (we're interested in how many there are) but not have to show the distance to the carcass for them. Thanks for your patience while we iron out the kinks!
