Condor Watch Talk

Field guide examples

May we please have a wider selection of field guide pics, maybe from different angles? Snapshot Serengeti has a good design, as well as the ability to show field guide images right next to the pics we're ID'ing. This would be very useful!

Nice idea. I see a lot of tails, and it'd be helpful to know what a condor tail looks like vs a turkey vulture tail (I hate those things! Gah!) Or the back-ass-end of each bird from behind, maybe a side view. Too many angles and options, especially when they are piling on a carcass and you're trying to sort out 20 of them. I thought it was tough trying to sort out horns over in Serengeti, but feathers and dark brown rumps are another matter 😃

I can tell a Grant's rump at a glance; turkey vultures, not so much. Who knew a bird tuckus could be so tough to ID? 😛
